Article Publishing Charges

An Article Processing Charge (APC) is a fee that authors, their institutions, or funding bodies may be required to pay for the publication of their research articles in open-access journals. This fee contributes to the expenses related to editorial management, production, and distribution, ensuring that the article is accessible to the public online at no cost. Open-access publishing allows for unrestricted access to the content, enabling anyone to read and download the article without encountering subscription fees or paywalls.

Open access articles allow for full access and reuse, enabling researchers to cite the work and credit the corresponding author. Similar to other open access publishers, authors are required to pay for publication only after their article has been accepted. In addition to publishing, we offer a range of services related to the processing and publication of articles, including manuscript preparation, plagiarism checks, online tools for editors and reviewers to facilitate a rigorous peer review process, abstracting and indexing, production services (HTML, PDF, and XML formats), proofreading, management, development, and marketing to enhance the online visibility of the article.

There are no fees required from authors for submitting articles, for rejected submissions, or for any additional charges. Authors have the option to withdraw their article at no cost within six days of submission. Article processing fees are determined by the specific journal. Our publishing group is self-funded and does not rely on government grants or sponsorships, allowing us to focus on providing access to the latest research through an open access approach.

Our Journals offers various discounts on APCs, which are mentioned below. The discounts are

  • Referral Discount
  • Discount amount
  • Special Promotions or Limited-Time Offer

When submitting an article to an open-access journal, authors may have the opportunity to benefit from various discounts or financial assistance aimed at reducing or eliminating the Article Processing Charge (APC). These discounts can depend on several factors, including the author's institutional affiliation, geographic location, or funding circumstances. Below are some typical types of discounts that authors might find:

Types of Discounts:

1. Institutional Discounts

Certain academic institutions have established agreements with us that allow their researchers to receive discounts or waivers on APCs. This arrangement is often part of a larger open-access initiative, sometimes referred to as a "transformative agreement" or "Read & Publish" model. If an author is associated with an institution that has such an agreement with the journal publisher, the APC may be partially or entirely subsidized.

Example: An author affiliated with a university that has a contract with a publisher could receive a 50% reduction in the APC.

2. Country-Based Discounts

Authors hailing from specific countries, especially those with lower-income economies, may qualify for discounts or waivers on APCs. We provide discounts or complete waivers for authors located in low-income or middle-income countries.

Example: An author from a low-income country might be granted a full waiver of the APC.

3. Membership Discounts

Various academic societies or organizations extend discounts on APCs to their members as part of their membership perks. Authors who are members of a professional society may receive a percentage discount on the APC for articles submitted to journals affiliated with that society.Example: A member of a particular scientific society could obtain a 30% discount on the APC when submitting to a journal owned by that society.

4. Waivers for Early Career Researchers

We provide discounts or complete waivers for early career researchers, including PhD candidates, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty members, to facilitate their publishing endeavors.Authors in the initial phases of their careers who meet the publisher's established criteria may qualify for a reduction or full exemption from the Article Processing Charge (APC).

Example: A postdoctoral researcher could qualify for a 50% reduction in the APC when submitting their inaugural article to an open-access journal.

5. Funder-Specific Discounts

Various research funding bodies, including government entities and private foundations, have established agreements with publishers to provide discounts on APCs for authors whose work is supported by these organizations. Authors who have received funding from a specific organization that has a partnership with the publisher may be eligible for a discount or complete waiver on the APC.

Example: An author whose research is backed by a particular government grant may qualify for a 75% discount on the APC, as part of the funding agency's arrangement with the publisher.

6. Special Promotions or Limited-Time Offers

Our journals present temporary discounts or promotional offers, often linked to events, or the launch of new journals. These promotions are generally available for a limited time and may apply to submissions within certain subject areas or during specific periods.

Example: A publisher might provide a 50% discount on APCs for articles submitted within a designated month or for those addressing a special issue.

7. Volume-Based Discounts

Our journals provide discounts based on the quantity of articles submitted by an individual or institution. Institutions or groups of authors that frequently publish in the same journal may qualify for reduced Article Processing Charges (APCs) for their subsequent submissions.

Example: A university that consistently submits multiple articles to a journal could be eligible for a discount on APCs after reaching a specified number of publications.

8. Affiliate Program Discounts

We extend discounts to authors who engage in an affiliate or partner program. Authors may receive a discount by referring other authors to the publisher or by publishing in journals that collaborate with other publishers or organizations.

Example: An author who successfully refers several peers to a journal may obtain a 20% or more  discount on their own article's APC.

9. Early Submission Discounts

We provide discounts to authors who submit their manuscripts ahead of the publication cycle or within a designated submission period.  Authors who submit their manuscripts by a specific deadline may be eligible for a discount on the APC.

Example: Authors who submit their articles during the first month of the year could receive a 10% discount on the APC.

10. APC Waivers for Collaborative Research

For research involving international collaborations, we offer waivers or discounts for authors affiliated with specific institutions or regions participating in the project. If an article results from a collaborative effort, particularly with institutions in low- or middle-income countries, the APC may be waived or reduced.

Example: A researcher from a high-income country collaborating with colleagues from a low-income country may qualify for an APC waiver.
